October 3, 2012, EXTON, PA – The Portland Timbers, the Major League Soccer (MLS) club based in Portland Oregon, recently signed an agreement with New Era Tickets, the solution-driven, full service ticketing subsidiary of Comcast-Spectacor, to provide customized ticketing services and marketing automation technology.

The Portland Timbers selected New Era Tickets based on the company’s unique blend of personalized service, industry expertise, and technology solutions.  New Era Tickets empowers sports organizations to take back control of their ticketing services.  The ticketing solution, powered by New Era Tickets’ sister company, Paciolan, will enable the Portland Timbers to control a variety of items including: branding, season ticket resales, and fan data.

The Portland Timbers will leverage New Era Tickets’ personalized services, extensive expertise, and industry-leading solutions. New Era Tickets’ customized ticketing solution for the Portland Timbers will integrate mobile ticketing, access control management systems, wireless ticketing technology, fraud prevention, fan loyalty cards, as well as automated and personalized digital fan communications.

The Portland Timbers will utilize the technology and expertise of New Era Tickets to launch a branded ticket marketplace.  The marketplace will offer the team’s season ticket holders a convenient and secure method to resell tickets to games they cannot attend.

Through New Era Tickets, the Portland Timbers will also launch a mobile ticketing solution to integrate with the Portland Timbers’ mobile website.  Once the mobile ticketing solution is seamlessly integrated, Timbers’ fans will be able to quickly and conveniently purchase tickets online and utilize print-at-home ticketing technology.

The New Era Tickets’ access control solution will enable the Portland Timbers to manage wireless ticketing technology across the entire venue and allow for ticket or member card scanning at entry points throughout JELD-WEN Field. The solution provides real-time attendance reporting and also includes integrated technologies specifically designed to prevent various forms of ticket fraud.

In addition to ticketing technology, New Era Tickets’ highly trained contact center and client support teams will become integrated with Portland Timbers’ operations, and also extend to on-site support on game-days and during special events. The Portland Timbers’ customized ticketing solution will be supported 24/7 by a New Era Tickets Client Services team member.

As part of the solution, the Portland Timbers will eventually issue loyalty cards to season ticket holders and supporters. The loyalty cards will enable the Portland Timbers to offer fans a variety of promotions and conveniences, including offers for early attendance.
